Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy and they are also a major source of innovation, economic growth, and national prosperity. In Texas, approximately 20% or 1.2 million of small businesses were owned by minorities. Minorities employed about 9.9 million employees and had annual payroll of $357.4 billion. (Census.gov 2023)
